HAMPI - Exploring Ancient Treasures
Hampi was the capital of the Vijayanagara empire and a fortified city in the 14th century. It was the second largest city in the world at that time after Beijing. Various travelers journals talk about this lavishly rich city, where gold and precious stones were sold like vegetables in the market. In the 16th century, such an empire fell into the hands of the Sultanate and was reduced into ruins after being emptied of the coffers. For over 300 years the ruins lay hidden from society, till it was rediscovered in the 19th century.
This documentary series explores various places in Hampi that exist as ruins today, but has retained their vibrance as energy centers. Hampi is a great lesson for today - from being a great civilisation to ruins - to know what looms around us wanting to bring us down, and how to equip and combat those forces.
