The Mayans history dates back to 4000 years. It is a well known fact that they were known for their advanced knowledge in Astronomy, Mathematics and a complex calendar. They were pioneers in pyramid building. The technology they used for such grand constructions still baffles scientists. We know from their heiroglyphic writings that they practiced a polytheistic religion - worshipping the sun, moon, rain and corn. They had rituals involving the spirits. And apparently they had much interactions with the astral world than what we can understand today.
